Good afternoon. My truck had an oil change on 06/21/2024 at the TA Elgin, IL location.

Its oil pan plug came out and all oil leaked out. The truck is currently broken down in West Alexander, PA 15376. I called a TA roadside squad and they inspected that the truck needs to be towed and the oil plug and pan replaced. The truck will be repaired at TA Travel Center - 270 W Alexander Rd, Valley Grove, WV 26060.

I contacted TA customer service, but they are not responding to my complaint and are not willing to take any action on my problem. We are a company of more than 350 trucks and use TA services every day and night.

They basically make millions out of us only. Now my truck is broken because of negligence and no one is taking this seriously.

Poor Customer Service

and I called for a roadside ticket. I advised the young lady that I knew what was wrong with my truck and wanted an estimate of how long the labor was.

She was honest and said she was unsure but would have the service technician call me before being dispatched. I asked her several times if she was sure that someone would call me before dispatch and she said yes and confirmed my call back number. An hour later. Delisa called for authorization for the technician to do the work.

I was never given the roadside price or the mileage price. When I tried to see why the technician was even at my truck she became loud and argumentative. She called me a liar and said I didn't request that, but who would agree to a blank check and then sign it? I explained that the calls were recorded and that we could rectify that argument by pulling the call.

She then hung up. I called the 1800 back and got another representative and she put me on 3-way call with the young lady again. We went back and forth for over an hour. I finally told the lady to tell her technician to leave because I never agreed to have him come out.

I wanted to speak to someone before anyone was dispatched. Delisa told me that she would deal with me when her manager came in at 6am. About 30 minutes later after being irate with my driver and my husband over the telephone, the technician called and apologized on behalf of himself and Delisa. They made an error about who they spoke to.

He tried to appease the situation by offering to fix my truck but would have to charge me for double miles because the order didn't say all that was required for the fix. He also said he would have to charge me from the time he was dispatched to the current plus whatever time it would take to go back to the shop and then make the repairs. I thanked the tech for at least apologizing but there was no way I was going to pay 2 hours of labor for arguing with Delisa. I would wait for the manager like Delisa unkindly stated.

The other representative apologized on behalf of TA and the service I received and that someone would reach out to me regarding the call. At 6am Delisa and her manager called and they learned that I did not speak to her. She spoke to the 3rd party dispatch and that person never conveyed that I required a phone call first. She never apologized for calling me a liar, however the manager and technician did.

The manager " Bill Fredericks" advised me that a new tech would be out with an hour he was dispatching them now. That was untrue. That tech was not dispatched to me until 3 hours later and he admitted to that. He also gave me a breakdown of the fees and an estimate because he could not be sure how long they would be but to change a tire and a hose should be no more than about an hour.

That was untrue. He also said that TA accepted debit cards. That was untrue. Bill Fredericks also stated that the mileage would be about 60 miles round trip and it was $1.21.

That was also untrue. 5 hours later Ashley called for payment of an invoice that should have been no more that $750 but wanted $954. When I asked for Bill he came on the line and we went over what the costs he quoted. He said he apologized but was unaware of the price change to mileage and that it was $2.49 instead but he would discount my bill by $50.

How nice you upcharge me and then discount it for less than what the upcharge was. I also asked why it took so long because I could have called someone else if he had given me an estimated eta of 3 or more hours. He said that the technician got held up at the shop. When I asked why I was being billed for 3 hours to change a tire and a hose that had 2 bolts he advised that he was doing me a favor.

I reminded Bill that the calls are recorded and that he had retracted almost everything we had agreed on. He said he was human and makes mistakes but he could offer me a free oil change. I advised that my home base was 4 hours away and that this was not a normal route for me. While I appreciate a free oil change, I doubt I will be back anytime soon.

He then became agitated because I was asking for better customer service and I referenced the fact that I had been trying to work with them since 2am and it was now noon. I reminded him of the poor customer service I had received earlier and how unprofessional the service I was getting now. I paid the bill but this situation is far from over. The calls are recorded for a reason.

I now understand why his staff lacked the knowledge of their positions because he too lacked knowledge. TA I strongly suggest you implement a better customer service program for your employees across the board. The employees are only as good as their superiors and at this point, their superiors have no idea what customer service looks like.

I can say they are well-versed in empathy because, besides Delisa, I heard "I'm Sorry" more than I can count. There was no attempt at correcting all the incorrect information provided or any attempt at trying to appease the customer within reasonable parameters.

You have an opinion and I love that for you. This was my experience and personal feelings about how I was treated.

You sound like someone that was involved or related to someone I mentioned.

Accountability is all I asked for and reasonable compensation not free. Maybe you can assist them since you seem to know allot.

A beginning estimate is exactly just that...an estimate...the price is always subject to change....and that's all shops across the world...calling someone else isn't going to change the definition of the word estimate.

My complaint is not about the estimate. It was about the lack of communication.

Had they done what was asked I would have no issues. The issue was that they were to contact me prior to being dispatched so I can make an educated decision about my situation.

While I appreciate your comment. I understand what this forum is for and I am using it to my speak my experience so others hopefully wont have the same experience.

It is no secret that roadside charges are unreasonable and I have every right to have all my available options before I accept paying someone to come out and do nothing. The fact that roadside even charges a hourly minimum regardless to if they can help you are not is unfair alone! Reading is fundamental but comprehension is another area. I will charge your inability to comprehend my WHY in posting this to the fact you are not a carrier.

Maybe some research will help you with a better ability to respond to posts like this. Have an awesome day!

Very disappointed

I work with a touring company. We drive bands from city to city when they are on tour.

We had a show in Vancouver canada yesterday. We stopped at the new t/a by the border in Blaine Washington before we went into canada. We had 23 trucks. Some of us wanted showers and was told by a thin guy working there that we couldnt use the showers because they wasnt clean and he couldnt clean them because he needs a code to open the doors to clean them.

We were there for 2 days and was never able to get a shower. We then crossed into canada for the show and came back to blaine 2 days later and stopped again at the T/A and was told the same thing by the same thin man behind the counter. We were shocked that he refused to clean the showers so we could use them. We all fueled up there and bought food , drinks and cigarettes etc there while we were there the few days that we stayed and never was able to get a shower.

This is a fairly new store and if this is how you treat your customers your store will eventually go broke at that location because 23 of us said we will Never stop there again.

There is a pilot and Donna's truckstop not far from there. You have alot of upset customers.

To make a change to all of TA locations

I've been trucking for many, many years and have been using TA Petro for many years. I don't like that these truck stops only offer hot meals when you want to use your Ultra Credit.

But, I want it to be able to buy anything from the store. Their meals are downright nasty and nobody wants that. I let all my Ultra Credit points expire because I don't want their unappetizing hot meals. Instead, I want the other products in the store.

If I'm able to do that, I would be happy to continue using TA Petro. I also believe that there are many truck drivers who think the same.

It sucked. The lady at the register did not give me the price that was marked and didn't tell me I was paying a different price! No manager was working, so I couldn't address the issue or return the item.

On 4/20/24 at 1204 p.m., I attempted to purchase a gallon of delvac 50/50 coolant at the T.A. shop in Earle, AR.

The lady at the counter (no nametag. Told me her name was Ebony) told me the amount was $25.17. I told her it was marked $17.99. We both looked, and there were 3 tags marked 17.99 for coolant, including the 1 I was trying to purchase.

She said "None of those are right, and i said "so, it's $17.99 then." She typed for several seconds and then told me to swipe my card. I couldn't see the total, so i was trusting that she was ringing up the right price. When I looked at the receipt, I saw she charged me 22.99 + tax, which came to 25.17. I then went to the main store and spoke to an assistant manager who told me she couldn't do anything about the shop, and i would have to soeak to a shop manager.

I returned to the shop and asked Ebony if a manager was working, and she said no. I said "ok. I would like to return this". She calls someone on her cell phone and tells me that her co-worker will have to do it and she will be coming back in a few minutes.

Her co-worker returns and she (heavy set younger white female) tells me I can't return the item because a manager has to be present. She also stated that she can't do a price override. Do you see how many things are wrong here?? Because there is no manager working, Ebony deceived me into making a purchase that I wouldn't have made.

Because no manager was working, there was nothing i could do about it! Please resolve this horrible experience for me.

PETRO WestMemphis has poor customer service. Its 5/11/24.

The clerk is not at the register. Yells from the back of the store, in an aggressive manner, 'what do you want '.I said that I want to make a purchase. She said I had to come to the back. She was on her cell.

With a frown slamming my items in a bag. Dismissed me like I was nothing. I hate we have to fuel here.

Its dirty, nasty, and the customer service stinks just as bad. Poorly managed.

Security guard need to be fired. He started some mess calling me out my name then want to pull a gun and *** it.

It's all on my dash cam.. why hasn't any one responded... Was the language to foul?? Well that's what ur security guard said.

Store 262 in South Carolina. The security guard approached me bout 9pm while exiting my truck harassing me about a parking spot I couldn't even get inside the store to pay for my spot...

I told him the other trucks next to me don't have a sticker go say something to him... As I started walking in the store he called me a *** *** *** talking *** so I thought he wanted to fight... Instead he pulled a gun out COCKED IT and said he would shoot me. If you are going to have security on your premises make sure they are not trigger happy ready to shoot someone over a parking spot.

Is that how this company operates?? I just drove 10 hours to park and spend my money at your store to have your not so tough security guard harassing me... If he didn't have that little *** shooter I was going to dog walk his *** There is nothing PROFESSIONAL about someone instigating a fight just to pull a gun... Now what if I would have had a gun then I would have had to protect myself...

Your security guard is waiting to shoot someone and y'all will be facing a lawsuit with his fake *** protecting his self story when clearly he is the aggressor... Now what would the police say??? What do you guys have to say. Something needs to be done immediately y'all can't have noone who is supposed to be a professional out there acting like a wanna be thug.

And I will keep calling and writing until something is done...

If I go back and see him there it's going to be a problem. BIG ONE

Wrongfully fired

I really need to take to manager in charge please very important. I feel that I was discriminated and lost my job due to the situation.

It was unprofessional will the fired process and also cops were called on me and I did nothing wrong other than work at the location. Due to manager making my schedule difficult to work at times but I still manage and the managers are very rude to the employee (s)
